95th Regiment of Foot

Chronology

1816 formed when the 95th Rifles were redesignated as The Rifle Brigade
1832 became 95th (Derbyshire) Regiment of Foot
1881 united with the 45th Regiment of Foot to form the Sherwood Foresters (Derbyshire Regiment) and became 2nd Battalion
1958 became part of the Forester Brigade
1963 became part of the Mercian Brigade
1970 amalgamated with The Worcestershire Regiment to form The Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment (29th/45th Foot).
2004 amalgamated to become 2nd Battalion The Mercian Regiment
