Bushire Railway, Persia

Hughes in his book [1] records the following extract:-

This 53-mile line was built by India to support operations of the Persian Field Force. The whole of,the Powayan Steam Tramway was commandeered for this purpose in 1918, the Company receiving ... Rupees per annum as compensation, and further material was supplied as required including two Drewry Ambulance cars. The railway closed in March 1921 and the stock was shipped to Bombay for disposal
