Women's Auxiliary Corps (India)
The Women's Auxiliary Corps (India) or WAC (I) was a Corps of women, raised 9 April 1942 to provide non-fighting military support for the Indian Army, to mitigate the shortage of manpower in the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.
It was created by Ordinance XIII of March 1942, published in the Gazette of India on 9 April 1942.[1]
