Sakri Sugar Factory Railway

The Sakri Sugar Factory, Sakri, Bihar State, was incorporated in 1933 as the Darbhanga Sugar Co Ltd under the ownership of the Maharaja of Darbhanga [1].

The 2ft/610mm narrow gauge(NG) cane haulage line ran from the factory to 13 km to Benipur. Seven locomotives used on the line are recorded and by mid 1980's largely disused and replaced by metre gauge(MG) [1].
