‘Mayavaram -Arantangi Railway’, 99 miles(159km), opened 1894 from Mayavaram Junction to Mutupet Railway. Originally a Tanjore Distriict Board line described as the ‘Mayavaram Mutupet Railway’, 53 miles(85km) and extended in 1902-03, a further 46 miles(74km) to Arantangi . [1]
