Kolar Gold Fields

A city in the south-east of Kolar District, Mysore State, which was a Princely State. The city, located 98km from Bangalore, was established in 1887, and now produces all of India's gold.

Mining companies included Mysore, Champion Reef, Ooregum, Nundydroog and Balaghat.
