95th Regiment of Foot
Chronology
- 1816 formed as the 95th Regiment of Foot when the 95th Rifles were redesignated The Rifle Brigade
- 1832 became 95th (Derbyshire) Regiment of Foot
- 1881 united with the 45th Regiment of Foot to form the Sherwood Foresters (Derbyshire Regiment) and became 2nd Battalion
- 1958 became part of the Forester Brigade
- 1963 became part of the Mercian Brigade
- 1970 amalgamated with The Worcestershire Regiment to form The Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment (29th/45th Foot).
- 2004 amalgamated to become 2nd Battalion The Mercian Regiment
