Bannu



Edwardesabad, also called Bannu, was the headquarters of Bannu District in the Derajat Division of North West Frontier Province. The present town was founded by Sir Herbert Edwardes in 1848. The town was used as a base for punitive expeditions. The cantonment was centred around the fort.
