The Lahore Tramway Company was in September 1886 constructing and equipping a 5.75 mile(9km) of single track. The investment was guaranteed at interest rate of 8 per cent for three years guaranteed. [1]

The horse-drawn tramway opened in Lahore in 1887 and reported to be a prosperous and paying concern. [2]

TheLahore Tramway however appears to have suffered financial collapse and was apparently put up for sale by auction in 1891.

The tramway was reported to be operating in 1894 and is mentioned in “Kim” by Rudyard Kipling c.1901.

Nothing more is known about this tramway.
