Lohat Sugar Factory Railway

The Lohat Sugar Factory, Lohat, Madhubani District, Bihar, was incorporated in 1914 as the Darbahanga Sugar Co Ltd under the ownership of the Maharaja of Darbhanga Railway[1].

An agreement dated 1917 with the Bengal and North-Western Railway(B&NWR) confirmed a 5 kilometre metre gauge(MG) siding between Pandual station and the sugar factory [1].

The factory also had a hand worked 2ft/610mm narrow gauge(NG) tramway field system that was lifted c.1976 [1].
