Tilaknager Sugar Factory Light Railway

A sugar factory was established at Tilaknager in July 1933 as ‘Maharashtra Sugar Mills Limited’, the factory was south west of Shirampur on the Great Indian Peninsula Railway (GIPR) between Manmad Junction and Ahmadnagar.

The sugar factory was closed in 1973 and became ‘Tilaknager Distilleries & Industries Ltd’ . [1].

A 2ft/610mm narrow gauge(NG) light railway operated within the factory and was dismantled probably in 1973[1]
