Muttra Bridge of Boats, Jumna River
Prior to the opening of the 'Muttra Bridge' in Jul 1884 the Jumna River was crossed by the ‘Muttra Bridge of Boats, Jumna River’ [1]. It states the "Photograph of a bridge of boats across the Yamuna at Mathura, taken by Samuel Bourne in the 1860s. Mathura, on the banks of the river Yamuna 150 kms south of Delhi, is a sacred city for Hindus."
