Also known as the Young Battalion.
Chronology
- 1776 raised for the Vizier of Oude under Captain Young
- 1778? incorporated in HEIC service as the 22nd Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
- 1781 became the 22nd Regiment of Bengal Native Infantryy
- 1796 became the 2nd Battalion 3rd Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
- 1824 became the 19th Regiment of Bengal Native Infantry
- 1857 mutinied at Berhampore on 25 February. Colonel Mitchell persuaded them to give up their arms and they were marched to Barrackpore and disbanded on 31 March.
