  • 1674 Lillingstone's Regiment nicknamed ‘The Dutch Guards’ employed by the Dutch
  • 1688 came to England with Willliam of Orange
  • 1743 renamed the 6th Regiment of Foot
  • 1782 became 1st Warwickshire Regiment
  • 1832 became The Royal (1st) Warwickshire Regiment
  • 1881 became The Royal Warwickshire Regiment
  • 1963 merged with the 5th (Royal Northumberland Fusiliers), 7th (Royal Fusiliers - City of London Regiment) and 20th (Lancashire Fusiliers) in the Fusilier Brigade and became The Royal Warwickshire Fusiliers
  • 1968 became 2nd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers when the four English Fusilier Regiments merged
