Chronology

  • 1846 raised by Capt Liptrott as the 16th Irregular Cavalry
  • 1847 became 17th Irregular Cavalry
  • 1861 became 7th Regiment of Bengal Cavalry
  • 1900 became 7th Regiment of Bengal Lancers
  • 1901 became 7th Bengal Lancers
  • 1903 became 7th Lancers
  • 1904 became 7th Hariana Lancers
  • 1922 amalgamated with 6th King Edward's Own Cavalry to become 18th King Edward's Own Cavalry
