This was an event during the 1st Afghan War

Synopsis
Having routed Shumsoodeen at Ghoaine, General Nott advanced to Ghazni. The surrounding heights were strongly occupied by the enemy but they were driven off and the tribesmen began to withdraw. The following day the city was occupied without a battle.
