Summary

The Tibetans had built a loopholed wall 800 yards long across the pass. At an altitude of 16,000 feet Branders frontal attack failed but the Gurkhas turned the blockade by climbing to 18,000 feet and the Tibetans retreated pursued by the mounted infantry.
