The author, in the book, was stated to be the wife of a tea planter, whose name is given as "Penny, Fanny Emily, (Farr), Mrs" in the National Library of India catalogue entry. Mrs Penny however, was married to a Chaplain of the Madras Presidency, so it appears at least some aspects of this book may be fictional.
