The station at this town was the terminus of the Gaekwar's Dabhoi Railway, the original name of the ox-driven line between 'Dabhoi' and as the original name of the ox-driven line between Dabhoi and Miyagam Karjan, a distance of 20 miles(33km) and opened in 1862.
