4.Fiona: My husband's grandfather gave advice to the Noakhali Railway in 1901 and received a cigar case from them. He neveer went to India so the advice must have been given in London. He was an Edinburgh Solicitor, who was involved in other Railway projects and the Forth Bridge. I would ne interested to now how this present came about. The website does not tell much.

Please feel free to add your name to this list if you would like to join the project

  1. Hugh - my involvement with this project comes about because I wanted to know more about my great-grandfather's career as a civil engineer, mainly spent on Indain railways.

2. Helen Leggatt - I would love to be involved having researched my family history in the Jamalpur Railway Workshops from early 1900's through to 1948.

3. Mike Pearce - yes I also would like to be involved, particularly in respect of East Indian Railway (E.I.R.) My interest involves the Howrah Carriage & Wagon works established by Robert Webb Pearce in 1855. The Locomotive constuction was moved to Jamalpur in the early 1860's (ref. Helen's interest above). C&W continued at Howrah until 1900 when it moved to Liluah. 4.Fiona: My husband's grandfather gave advice to the Noakhali Railway in 1901 and received a cigar case from them. He neveer went to India so the advice must have been given in London. He was an Edinburgh Solicitor, who was involved in other Railway projects and the Forth Bridge.
