'''Field Marshal Hugh Henry Rose, 1st Baron Strathnairn GCB GCSI (1801-1885)''' was a British soldier who came to India in 1837 1857 to command the Mysore Poona Division of the [[Madras Bombay Army]]. He was commander-in-chief then took command of the British forces in newly created Central Indian Field Force and led the [[1st China War]] after which he became [[Commander-in-Chief in Central IndiaCampaign]].
