The '''Kaunia-Kurigram Railway''' (KKR) was a 2ft 6in/762mm narrow gauge([[Rail_gauge#Narrow_Gauge|NG]]) line that extended the [[Northern Bengal State Railway]] eastwards from [[Kaunia]] to [[Teesta]], and then to [[Kurigram]]. section  In 1916-17 the conversion of the [[Teesta-Kurigram Railway]] section of KKR from NG to metre gauge([[Rail_gauge_#Metre_Gauge|MG]]) was sanctioned by Government of India([[Government of India |GoI]]) under the agency of the East Bengal Railway(EBR).
