Initially the title may have included the spelling ''Materiel''. There is a distinction between '''clothing''', which means uniforms, special clothing, badges etc, and '''equipment''', which covers personal equipment such as the pattern 1908, personal arms, accoutrements, and all forms of unit equipment from field guns to harness and saddlery to wagons.
