In 1888 this railway track The 'Nagpur Chhattisgarh Railway was purchased from GIPR , in 1887, absorbed by the [[Bengal-Nagpur Railway]](BNR), a company incorporated in 1887, and was converted to broad gauge. Thus ; thus marked the beginning of BNR.
