- The East Indian Railway (EIR) first Consulting Engineer appointed 1847 [1]
- Designed the box-girder steelwork for the Son River Bridge near Arrah [2]
- Died 1856 [3] and suceeded as Consulting Engineer to EIR by his son Alexander Meadows Rendel[4]
