Kargali Colliery, a State Colliery, an output of 435,000 tons for 1935-36, rising to 576,000 tons in 1936-37 in response to short supplies of market coal. [1]
The Colliery would have been connected to the ‘Central Indian Coalfields Railway’.
The exact location of the 'Kargali Colliery" has not been identified, it must be near Bokoro and appears to refer to the coal seam:-
The main source of coal to the 'East Bokaro Coalfield’, covering an area of 208 sq km, was developed first to supply the railways. even to the present time, is the 21-23m thick Kargali seam. The Bokaro colliery was opened in 1917.
