It appears that registration of nurses in India commenced in the 1930’s in the various Provinces and in Burma from 1922. <br> The British Library has two registers of nurses and midwives in Madras for 1940 and 1946, IOR/V/25/851/8 1940 and IOR/V/25/851/9 1946.<br>
