'''Field Marshal Sir Hugh Gough, 1st Viscount Gough, KP, GCSI, KCB, PC (1779-1869)''' was a British soldier who came to India in 1837 to command the Mysore Division of the [[Madras Army]]. He was commander-in-chief of the British forces in the [[1st China War]] after which he became [[Commander-in-Chief in India]]. He commanded the [[Gwalior Campaign]] and won costly victories in the [[1st Sikh War]] and the [[2nd Sikh War]].
