== Summary ==
Statue of Marquis Dupleix - Pondicherry. The statue of Dupleix is 3m high and stands overlooking the beach in Pondicherry. It was built in 1870 and the description reads :- Sous la regne de Napoleon 111, Empereur de Francais, L'ARRIVAI REGAULT DE GENOUILLY, Etant Ministre de la marines de Colonies. Cette statue a ete engee a Pondicherry a la memoire de MARQUIS DUPLEIX , Le Commisaire general:-BONTEMPS Governeur, LACOUTURE Ordinateur, Directeur del Interieur pl. ROUYER Directeur des Ponts et Chausees Pl. Juillet 1870
