After the fall of Lucknow many of the rebel leaders fled to [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rohilkhand Rohilcund]. [[Colin Campbell|Sir Colin Campbell]] planned a campaign from four directions. In April and May 1858 rebel resistance was effectively crushed.
