*George Francklin Atkinson was in the Bengal Engineers in the Umballa Division . He was the author of [http://www.archive.org/stream/curryriceonforty00atkiuoft#page/n7/mode/2up ''"Curry & Rice," on Forty Plates; or, The Ingredients of Social Life at "Our Station" in India''], first published 1858.
