The Bhavnagar State Railway (BSR) was formed and built by the Princely Bhavnagar State as a Metre Gauge(MG) line in 1880.
Initially worked by an administrative coalition as the the Bhavnagar-Gondal-Junagad-Porbandar Railway, the BSR operated as an independent system from 1911 under the administation of the Bhavnager Durbar.
