In about 1854-55 a proposal was put forward for the Lucknow, Ganges River Crossing Tramway. The proposal was submitted by Messrs. Greenway of Cawnpore 'to construct a double tramway to facilitate the transit of the River Ganges' Messrs. Greenway were responsible for similar dry season river crossings of the River Ganges at #Redirect Jajmau near Cawnpore, 1853-54 and Furruckabad. This clearly would have been a dry season temporary track but no further information has been found. ==Further Information==See page Tramroads, Riverbed Crossings ==References==<references />
