The [[Board of Commissioners for the Affairs of India]] is often referred to as the [[Board of Control]] and was created after East India Company Act (Pitt's India Act) 1784 was brought in to try and regulate the [[East India Company]]. The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Secretary of State, and four Privy Councillors were the [[Board of Control]]. The Privy Councillors were nominated by the King.
