Walers
== Walers==
From around the mid nineteenth century there was a demand from India for stock horses from New South Wales (Australia). These were particularly popular with the Indian Cavalry as the horses were thought to be able to stand the climate of India better than horses from England. The Australian horses were known as Walers. :*[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waler_horse Waler horse] Wikipedia.:*[http://www.lighthorse.org.au/the-waler-a-breed-of-horse-legend-or-fact/ "“The Waler”… a breed of horse?
