Comment on location
By description Bednore was 40 miles from the coast at the head of the Ghats. General Matthews marched from Coondapur (Kundapura) inland. An 1875 Indian Empire map labels it as Bednore or Nuggur. There is a place called Nagar south of Hosanagar in the right area.--Sy 07:53, 9 June 2008 (PDT)
Comment on Date
Battles & Actions in British India 1600-1900 dates the battle in 1799. I can find no record of this so have substituted the battle of 1783. Index date to be changed.--Sy 09:49, 22 September 2008 (PDT)
