The 'Empire Jute Co Ltd' owned a Jute Mill at Titagarh, North 24 Paraganas District with 'McLeod & Co' as Managing Agent. In 1917 it was operating with 400 looms [1].
The records indicate that a 2ft 6in/762mm (NG) system was operational at the mill [1].
