Thank you for all your recent edits and new pages. As a moderator I check the Recent changes and so noticed you were having trouble with adding references/footnotes. Hopefully you will find these tips useful:

• CitationSandbox - explains how to use the <ref> tags and is a page where you can test references out
• Using the 'Preview' button before saving a page lets you check your edit has worked as expected

I'm assuming from your edits that you have worked it out, but if you still want to practice anything you can either use the CitationSandbox here or the General Sandbox here. Sarah: How do you construct categories at more than one level ? For instance within Military is the sub class Medals How would you create this?

On the Army of India Medal page you have created, click on the red link at the bottom of the page for the Medal category (red link meaning the category does not exist yet). This starts the process of creating this new category. On the editing page, add [[Category:Military]] and save the page. This creates the new Medal category and places that new category inside the military category. Nothing else needed.

Just to explain some changes made to the Macao Expedition page, for your reference. We used to add the year in the title but are in the process of removing these due to them affecting Google searches, hence the 1809 being removed. Sy also changed the title to the contemporary spelling of Macao, which we tend to do for all locations so that they fit what people will come across in their research. Hello Nick. I am coordinator of the MIlitary Project. That just means I have put in the most hours on the various pages. It is great to have a new editor on the FibiWiki. I hope you will find your interest growing the more you do. I certainly did. It is difficult sometimes to anticipate the correct format for pages and I have had to learn the rules that FIBIS has set out. Sarah is a great support and never fails to spot my careless edits or to recast stuff which I have got wrong. If you have a particular area of interest or knowledge let me know and I will be only too glad for you to develop a specific section.

By the way, replies to any posts on your discussion page will automatically come to the attention of your correspondent if you put them on the discussion section of their User Page. If you click on my name at the end of this, you will bring up my User Page. On my discussion section you will see debates between Sarah and me over the last couple of years. Battle of Poona

This Battle of Poona on 17 November1817 was when the city surrendered to General Smith. The Battle of Poona 25 October 1802 was between the Peshwa Bajirao II and the Holkars (see Wikipedia article) and preceded the 2nd Maratha War. We haven't made a page for this as there was no HEIC involvement. You can put questions like this on the Discussion page of the article rather that the article page. Thats fine, this is a huge project, and I just get confused by the enormity of it: Nick I think my confusion came as I saw the Battle of Poona reported as the "Battle of Yeraoda 16/17 November 1817" from source: Imperial Gazetteer of India, v. 20, p. 181.subject: Poona. This details the Battles of Kirkee, Yeraoda, and Koregon - and I already knew about the 1802 skirmish. --Sy 10.56, 8 June 2010 (New Zealand Time)
