The South Bihar Railway opened in 1879 connecting Luckeesarai and Kiul to Gaya, the line was operated by the East Indian Railway (EIR). [1] [2] [3]
The railway was privately owned by the South Bihar Railway Company and was leased to the State to be worked as part of the EIR network.
