The Yavatmal Murtijapur Railway was a 2ft 6in/762mm narrow gauge(NG) line, opened in 1903. The privately owned railway was part of a group of NG lines, known locally as 'Shakuntala Railway'.
All the lines are owned by Central Provinces Railway Co Ltd (CPR) and worked by Great Indian Peninsular Railway(GIPR),
