  1. Possibly named after the place Buccleugh in Scotland, or perhaps less likely after the Duke of Buccleugh. A researcher obtained a document from abhilekh-patal.in, (National Archives of India) identifier : PR_000002635304, File No. : November 1865 PWD (MW) Progs.No. 55-57, which contained a letter No. 80, dated 8th August, 1864 which refers to a letter [ No. 56.] From—Colonel H. W. Norman, C. B., Secy, to Govt of India, Mily Dept, which advised the British Station would be at Buccleugh.
