Chronology

  • 1854 raised by HEIC as 2nd Bengal (European) Light Infantry
  • 1858 taken into the British Army
  • 1862 renamed 104th Regiment of Foot (Bengal Fusiliers)
  • 1881 merged with the 101st Regiment of Foot and became 2nd Battalion The Royal Munster Fusiliers
  • 1922 disbanded on the formation of the Irish Free State
