Landi Kotal was the last station on the Khyber Pass Railway route from Peshawar. The section from Jamrud to Landi Kotal opened on November 3, 1925. See Khyber Pass Railway irfca.org

Prints 7 and 7a form a panorama of the British camp at Landi Kotal, the highest elevation in the Khyber Pass and the western-most portion of the Pass held by the British. The Third Anglo-Afghan War started here in May 1919.
