Government of India (GOI) - Railway Board
Under the rule of the British Crown from 1858 to 1947 over the Indian Subcontinent, the ownership of the Railways, progressively from 1868 onwards, was acquired by GOI.
The management and organisation of these acquired Railways was delegated to the Railway Board.
