The Thanesar-Kaithal Railway was a branch line of Delhi-Umballa-Kalka Railway(DKR).

The DKR Company signed a contact in 1909 with the Government of India(GoI)GoI for the construction and working of the Thanesar-Kaithal Railway line . This branch was operating in 1912 making Kaithal an important trading centre. This line was worked by the East Indian Railway(EIR) and taken over by the GoI in 1925.
