The Lucknow-Bareilly State Railway was a metre gauge(MG) railway which formed an alternative northern "loop" between the cities of Lucknow and Bareilly to the broad gauge(BG) main line of the Oudh and Rohilkhand Railway.

History

Formed 1891 from merger of Lucknow-Sitapur & Bareilly Railway and Bareilly-Pilibheet Provincial State Railway; worked by Rohilkund and Kumaon Railway(R&KR) [1] [2]

The Lucknow-Bareilly State Railway was amalgamated in 1943 with the Bengal and North-Western Railway(B&NWR and the Rohilkund and Kumaon Railway (R&KR) to form the Oudh and Tirhut Railway(O&TR). [3]
