The Surat-Amalner Railway was commenced in 1886 to link Surat to Amalner.
The line was privately owned by the Killick Nixon Company and became the Tapti Valley Railway Company when the company was formed in 1896. [1]
The line was worked by Bombay, Baroda and Central India Railway(BB&CIR) [2]
