The Kaunia-Dharlia State Railway was constructed by Eastern Bengal Railway(EBR) as 2ft 6in/762mm narrow gauge(NG) Tram linking Kaunia to Dharla River. [1] [2]
The Kaunia-Dharla line was converted to metre gauge(MG) in 1901 and extended to Amingaon in 1908 becoming the Assam Branch of the EBR network.
