The line was absorbed into [[Rajputana-Malwa State Railway]](RMSR) in 1881-82; together with a number of existing State Railways.

The line between [[Rewari]] and [[Ferozepore]] when completed was apparently divided into two sections :-
*[[Rewari]] via [[Bhatinda]] to [[Kot Kapura]] section, c.235 miles(375km) was opened in 1883 as the [[Rewari-Bhatinda-Fazilka Railway|'Rewari-Bhatinda-Fazilka Section']], this being part of the metre gauge([[Rail_gauge_#Metre_Gauge|MG]]) [[Bombay, Baroda and Central India  Railway]](BB&CIR) network. The implication is that between [[Bhatinda]] and [[Kot Kapura]] there were two lines running sde by side - one being the MG BB&CIR line, the other being the BG NWR line. The Rewari-Ferozepore Railway was under construction in 1881 with Hugh Lewin Monk of the Public Works Department(PWD) Railways Branch as Engineer-in-Charge [1]. Robert Trefusis Mallet, also from PWD, was the Engineer-in-Chief from 1881 [2].

Note: 'Ferozepore' is given as 'Firozpur' in some documents. We have adopted the spelling given in the "Imperial Gazetteer of India"
