The 'Dandot Light Railway' was a very short (6 miles/10km) 2ft/610mm narrow gauge([[Rail_gauge#Narrow_Gauge|NG]])branch, built to serve the colliery worked there by the [[North Western Railway]](NWR).


The 'Khost Colliery' was situated in the 'Khost-Sharigh-Harnai Coal Belt' some 30-40 mile (48-64km) east of [[Quetta]], and at an altitude ofabout 4,000 feet(1,200 metres). Dandot Light Railway

The 'Dandot Light Railway' was a very short (6 miles/10km) 2ft/610mm narrow gauge(NG)branch, built to serve the colliery worked there by the North Western Railway(NWR).

The 'Dandot Colliery', supplied coal to the North Western Railway(NWR) and opened in 1894. The other collieries supplying NWR were the Sharigh Colliery and the Khost Colliery [1].
